FAQ

Losing your possessions and not being able to prove to your insurance company that you ever owned them. Without proper documentation and receipts or personally scheduled items, your insurance carrier will severely reduce claim payments based on depreciation schedules or actual cash value for many costly items. Property & Casualty insurance adjusters highly recommend video recordings to prove ownership, property condition, and current dollar value of your property prior to a loss. The aftermath of a powerful wind event, flood, fire or burglary is traumatic enough without the anxiety of uncertain recovery from your insurance carrier.

Video Property Archives™ eases your mind with the knowledge that you have a comprehensive digitally date-stamped video archive of your real and personal property. Consider how much time, effort, and expense it would take, if even possible, to recall and log in detail your valuable contents and amenities. In fact, most claimants are unable to recall 60% of their personal property losses following a catastrophic event. It's human nature to be stressed and ill-focused long after a disaster strikes. Strikingly, when testing our memory prior to a loss results show we forget up to 40%.

  • Should I be prepared to direct and accompany the videographer throughout my home?

Yes. You or an authorized representative will direct and accompany our videographer throughout your home or business. Please note: If entire rooms or any portion thereof, and/or personal property exists that you desire not to be documented for any reason, please let us know prior to the filming.

  • May I add commentary to the recording process?

Yes, we encourage it.

The description of an item or a group of items should be brief, detailing what is known to be accurate and verifiable.

For purchased personal property please include approximate age, purchase price and place of purchase. Note: Always keep your sales receipts for expensive items in a safe place.

For personal property handed down, family heirlooms, collectibles, antiques, etc., please include age, condition, and current known value.

Our custom video-recordings reveal an everlasting, permanent legacy for your family and heirs to preserve your lifestyle, heirlooms, and valuables and the stories left behind.

Taking these initial steps will greatly improve your video property archive to be as accurate and effective as possible.

  • Privacy Guarantee:

Video Property Archives™ realizes the trust involved in recording your personal property. We guarantee you absolute privacy.  Video Property Archives™ does not share or retain any original or duplicate client recordings and strongly advises clients to store their DVD in an off-site safe deposit box. Privacy and confidentiality are a concern anytime someone enters your home. We understand this concern and are sensitive to our client’s wishes. Before we start any inventory, we tour the home with our client or an authorized representative. We listen to any issues or concerns you may have with any rooms or possessions. We respect that each homeowner has a varying comfort level, thus we put our clients at ease prior to beginning their recording process. We also encourage client participation. We are licensed, insured and bonded for your protection. In addition, we sign a confidentiality agreement with you as part of our standard agreement.

  • Disclaimer Policy:

Video Property Archives™ makes no representations, guarantees, or warranties of any kind relating to the outcome of third party transactions for which this video archive may be used, including but not limited to insurance claims relating to property damage or loss, real estate transactions, or any other use of application of audio/video or video recording.

  • Are still photographs as reliable as a video-recording?

No. Photographs tend to be one dimensional, are usually undated, and cannot possibly reveal the detail and overall condition of real or personal property in the same manner that a multi-dimensional, digitally time/date-stamped audio/video recording will. Think about how many still photographs it would take to create the same effect as a video recording. Research results declare boxes full of pictures of personal property may raise a red flag with claims adjusters.

  • What is the standard recording time requirement?

Please allow up to 3 hours on premises per residence.

  • If I have larger quantities of possessions and/or collectables greater than was initially confirmed to be recorded, is it likely the recording process will take longer and cost more than initially quoted?

It could. Large quantities of possessions and or collectables to be recorded may exceed our standard time allowance. We will be happy to discuss your  requirements prior to recording. Please note: Additional charges may apply if extended recording time is required. You will be advised if there will be any additional charges.

  • What is our service area in Florida?

All Southwest, Southeast, and Central Florida including Sarasota to Tampa Bay, Boca Grande, Sanibel/Captiva to Naples, Florida Keys, Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Orlando to Gainesville.
