DON'T WAIT UNTIL YOU'VE SUFFERED A LOSS!

However, if disaster should strike and you are without a current comprehensive inventory of your possessions, your claim's adjuster; who bases decision making on assumptions and industry standards, can take several months, even up to a year to piece together what is verifiable before the claims process can even begin. With the advantage of a professional video inventory, your claim can be submitted immediately. This is why Insurance companies, risk attorneys, and asset wealth managers urge homeowners to maintain a current and comprehensive video inventory of your home and all of it's contents. A faster and accurate claim recovery also eliminates the need to pull money away from investments to replace lost or damaged possessions.

THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF PUBLIC INSURANCE ADJUSTERS (NAPIA)

Most policyholders don't realize that the burden of proof rests with them. In fact, you must provide documented proof of ownership to receive a settlement covering the full extent of the loss.

DIVORCE, TRUSTS, WILLS, BANKRUPTCY AND ESTATE SETTLEMENTS...

The settlement of an estate, trust, will, bankruptcy or divorce is just part of the cycle of life.  It is likely you will be faced with one or more of these legal issues. Acquiring a professional video inventory of your personal property now will assist you with the process of property distribution by establishing a time line and trail for asset ownership, possession, condition and value.

WHAT ADJUSTERS ARE TELLING US...

Our adjusters tell us they might see one or two home inventories in a year," said Pete Moraga, a spokesperson for Allstate Insurance in Los Angeles. That's out of hundreds of claims.  "I can't emphasize enough how important they are," Moraga said. "...it's incredibly difficult to remember everything you had."  Nevertheless, home inventories are rarely done because they're so time consuming. They require recording each and every item of furniture, stick of clothing and family game owned, whether it's in the living room or the basement. Ideally, an inventory should also note the type of construction of the home and any features — like built-in cabinets or granite countertops — that would affect the cost of replacement. YOU SHOULDN'T ACCEPT LESS THAN YOUR INSURANCE POLICY LIMITS...

You've made significant purchases during your lifetime...One thing for sure, you have a lot to lose!  The aftermath of a powerful wind event, flood, fire or burglary is traumatic enough without the anxiety of uncertain recovery from your insurance carrier. In the event of a loss, tens of thousands, even hundreds of thousands of claim settlement dollars for lost or badly damaged possessions would be in jeopardy without clear evidence of ownership, possession, current condition and value. Property owners like yourself anticipate and expect a satisfactory recovery. Without proper video documentation, receipts, and personally scheduled item coverage for your costly possessions, your insurance carrier can deny or severely reduce your claim payments based on (ACV) actual cash value, depreciation schedules and their own appraisal process.

ARE  YOU  PREPARED  TO  FACE  YOUR  INSURANCE  COMPANY  SHOULD  YOU  SUFFER  A  CATASTROPHIC  LOSS?

"It's human nature to experience a heightened level of stress and be ill-focused following a catastrophic loss. A claims

adjuster assisting homeowners following Hurricane Katrina (Cat-5+) in 2006 exclaimed; Post Disaster loss recall of

personal property averages less than 60%. Strikingly, when testing the recall of homeowners who did not experience

any losses, results revealed they forgot as much as 40%."

ENJOY A PEACE OF MIND THAT YOU HAVE VIDEO EVIDENCE OF ALL YOUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS.

"Now that we installed all the hurricane protection we could to our home, your video recording program is the final security addition to our family. Our friends lost everything in hurricane Charley several years ago, and having video evidence of their possessions saved them probably years of painful reconstruction. Their insurance company reviewed the evidence from the VPA recording right there on a laptop in their field office, verified the claims, and they were on their way to reconstruction almost immediately. Most others weren’t so fortunate."

"Now we can sleep easily knowing that in the event of a catastrophe, putting things back together again won’t be the as traumatic as it would without the evidence."

Thanks for the peace of mind!

A JUDGES PERSPECTIVE...

Most seasoned Floridians have been placed on tropical storm, flood, or hurricane alert, or have personally experienced one or more of these weather events every year.

Many insured Florida homeowners have thought about documenting the contents in their home either on paper, by photography or video, usually at the start of each hurricane season. "Most homeowners neglect to prepare proper documentation. They procrastinate, doubting that their possessions will ever be destroyed"  [Superior Court Justice Blenus Wright]

Lest we not forget Hurricanes such as; Andrew (1992 - Cat. 5+), Charley (2004 - Cat. 4), Wilma (2005 - Cat. 4), and Katrina (2005 - Cat 5+)  just to mention a few. Far too many homeowners devastated by the affects of those hurricanes believed the very same way and did not recover as successfully and completely as possible.

FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency),  State & Local EOC (Emergency Operations Center) Directors, Insurance Companies, Risk Attorneys, and News Medias strongly advise all homeowners to: "Document your household contents for insurance purposes before a storm strikes."

REVIEWING  YOUR  DVD  WILL  ILLUSTRATE  WHETHER  OR  NOT  YOU  ARE  ADEQUATELY  INSURED  FOR  LOSS...

"Many of our clients work with Bruce of Video Property Archives to document their home and belongings. This record will certainly be useful in expediting claims settlements after a loss."

FOUNDER'S MESSAGE...

Have you considered how much time, effort, and expense it would take, if even possible, to recall and list in detail all the valuable contents and amenities in your home or business?

Recalling all of your personal property for your insurer would be nearly impossible without a video reference.  It's a small price to pay when you consider the peace of mind you will feel knowing that you have a complete and current record of all of your resident possessions.

Reviewing your new audio-video DVD will illustrate whether or not you are adequately insured for loss.  Moreover, it clearly displays any important assets that should be considered as an addition to the 'scheduled' portion of your contract.  For instance, do you know what your general household content dollar limits and sub-limits are for jewelry, collectables, or fine art? An annual evaluation of your content coverage with your agent is strongly recommended to adjust any inconsistencies.

Should you suffer a  loss, utilize your video inventory. The more accurate and compliant your claim submissions are, the better, quicker and cleaner your recovery will be.

Our video-recording's bi-product is an everlasting, permanent legacy for your family and heirs to preserve your lifestyle, heirlooms, and valuables and the stories left behind.

VPA offers an annual update program as part of our ongoing service to keep your asset records as current as possible.
